Sherwin-Williams Rewild: 10 Lasting 2027 Colors for Charlotte Homes

We already wrote about Sherwin-Williams Celery, the 2027 Color of the Year, and October’s Plum Brown. Today we’re zooming out to the Sherwin-Williams Rewild forecast and its 10 Continuity Colors. If you’re planning a repaint in the Charlotte area and want colors that won’t feel dated in a few years, it’s a handy shortlist.

What Is Rewild?

Rewild is Sherwin-Williams’ 2027 Colormix Trend Forecast, announced July 30, 2026. The company’s Trendsight Team picked 48 colors and, instead of set palettes, grouped them under three loose themes: Revive (nostalgia and handmade craft), Reignite (bold contrast and personality) and Reconnect (nature and local tradition). You’re meant to mix them your own way.

New this year, Sherwin-Williams singled out 10 of the 48 as Continuity Colors: shades with staying power, suggested for whole rooms and main walls. That’s what most homeowners want from a repaint.

The 10 Continuity Colors in Plain English

Our descriptions are based on the color chips, so look at real samples before you decide.

Light, everyday anchors

  • White Duck SW 7010: a soft, warm white. Great on trim, ceilings and cabinets when bright white feels too stark, and as exterior trim next to brick.
  • Icicle SW 6238: a pale, cool near-white. Sherwin-Williams files it with its purples, so expect a faint cool cast. It looks crisp in bedrooms and baths with gray tile.
  • High Sierra SW 9588: a warm, sandy greige. Our first pick for a whole-house wall color, and light enough for siding.
  • Celery SW 6421: the soft yellow-green that’s also the 2027 Color of the Year. We’d use it indoors, in kitchens and laundry rooms.

A soft mid-tone

  • Dutch Tile Blue SW 0031: a muted blue with gray in it. It’s calm in a bedroom or office and friendly on a front door or porch ceiling.

Deep, grounding colors

  • Forged Steel SW 9565: a deep charcoal gray. Use it on shutters, front doors, garage doors or a kitchen island; it’s softer than black.
  • Roycroft Bronze Green SW 2846: a dark olive green with brown in it. Try it on shutters against brick, built-ins or lower cabinets.
  • Clove SW 9605: a very dark, warm brown that’s almost black. Try it on a front door, fireplace wall or vanity for depth without a cold black.
  • Cordovan SW 6027: a deep wine red with brown in it. Use it in a dining room, powder room or on a front door. Think of it as Plum Brown’s redder cousin.
  • Red Barn SW 7591: a classic, earthy barn red. It makes a cheerful front door or shutters on a white or gray house and suits the holidays.

Three Whole-House Schemes for Charlotte Homes

  • Brick traditional: High Sierra in the main living spaces, White Duck trim and ceilings, Roycroft Bronze Green shutters and a Clove front door.
  • Light and fresh: White Duck walls, Celery in the kitchen, Dutch Tile Blue in the bedrooms and a Forged Steel kitchen island.
  • Warm for the holidays: High Sierra walls, a Cordovan dining room, Clove built-ins and a Red Barn front door.

Painting Rewild Colors Well

A few things we’ve learned on the job:

  • Sample first. Sherwin-Williams offers free color chips at swsamples.com or in its stores, plus Peel & Stick sheets and Color To Go paint samples. Check them in morning and evening light.
  • Deep colors take more work. Forged Steel, Roycroft Bronze Green, Clove and Cordovan usually need a tinted primer and an extra coat.
  • Pick the right sheen. Flat or matte hides wall flaws. Satin or semi-gloss holds up better on doors, trim and cabinets.
  • Mind the vinyl. We repaint faded vinyl siding with paint that has a PVC additive made for vinyl. Dark colors soak up heat, though, so on vinyl we stick to lighter shades like High Sierra or White Duck and save the deep ones for doors and shutters.
  • Prep the cabinets. Cleaning, sanding, a bonding primer and a hard enamel are what keep cabinet paint from chipping.
  • Check with your HOA. If you have an HOA, find out whether exterior color changes need approval first.

A Note on Paint Sales

Buying samples or paint yourself? Sherwin-Williams lists a Super Sale at its retail stores from October 16 through October 26, 2026, with 40% off select paints and stains and 30% off select supplies (Peel & Stick samples and some other items are excluded). That’s Sherwin-Williams’ offer, not a SouthEnd discount, so check their page for the details.
